- Why
is your sales manual called “The
Cookbook?”?
Food plays an integral part in
any travel experience and even
more so in incentive travel. Customizing
programs makes us feel like chefs
ourselves – we help you
find a tasty appetizer, select
a mouth-watering main course,
and finally top it all with a
delicious dessert! That is why,
instead of having just a sales
manual, we offer you The Cookbook?
where you will find a complete
listing of our products and services.
- What
airport should we use for our
group?
Programs starting or ending in
San Jose, going to the mid Pacific
coast or making a roundtrip of
the country should use the San
Jose Airport. Programs taking
place on the north Pacific coast
should use the Liberia Airport.
This airport has been recently
upgraded and is served by Delta,
Continental and American Airlines,
charter and private flights.
- What
should participants be advised
to pack to Costa Rica?
The dress code in Costa Rica is
very casual. Formal attire is
only used on special occasions,
like receptions, dine-outs or
cultural activities. The highland
areas can be chilly, and a sweater
is recommended. For the lowland
areas light, loose-fitting shirts
and trousers or shorts are essential.
If going into the rain forest,
insect repellent, a raincoat with
a hood and hiking boots are a
most.

would you recommend for a 4-night

Airport).
- What
are the options for groups staying
in Costa Rica for 5 to 7 nights?
Groups with longer stays can have

Jose and either the mid Pacific

opportunity to observe different
landscapes and enjoy more diverse
attractions and activities in
the selected areas.

Costa Rica a safe destination?
Like any other country, Costa
Rica faces the challenge of keeping

of your passport and leave the
original in the safe at the hotel;
keep your airline ticket, important
documents, cash and traveler cheques
in the hotel safe; always change
your money at the bank or at the
hotel, never on the street; do
not wear valuable jewelry on the
street and carry only the amount
of money you will need for the
day; guard valuable items you
are carrying, such as cameras
or video cameras. If you are going
out at night, have the hotel bellstaff
call you a cab.

- Can
I ship materials, equipment, and
gifts for our program in Costa
Rica?
In Costa Rica the merchandise
arrives to Customs Clearance,
and it is subject to high taxes.
If you are shipping items we suggest
doing it at least 3 or 4 weeks
prior to the program; also check
with your shipping company about
all possible taxes that would
apply. We suggest avoiding perishables
or high value items, and specifically
chocolates, beverages, food, chemical
products, jewelry, or cosmetics.
It is also advisable to hire Door-to-Door
or DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) service,
known in the US as Free Domicile,
where the sender assumes full
payment of freight, taxes and
custom clearance. If you have
the choice, we would suggest avoiding
shipments. In this way you won't
have to worry about not getting
your items on time or going through
the hassle of customs clearance.
We offer you a selection of specialized
stores including a variety of
products, from office supplies
to promotional items, graphic
material, and all kinds of gifts,
among others.
- Are
meetings held in Costa Rica tax
deductible?
Yes, Costa Rica has been designated
by the US government as a beneficiary
country to allow business expense
deductions for meetings. Several
business-related travel expenses
can be deducted. If your program
includes meetings, we suggest
checking the IRS regulations on
this topic to maximize the tax
deductibility of the trip.
