  • Why is your sales manual called “The Cookbook?”?
Food plays an integral part in any travel experience and even more so in incentive travel. Customizing programs makes us feel like chefs ourselves – we help you find a tasty appetizer, select a mouth-watering main course, and finally top it all with a delicious dessert! That is why, instead of having just a sales manual, we offer you The Cookbook? where you will find a complete listing of our products and services.

  • What airport should we use for our group?
Programs starting or ending in San Jose, going to the mid Pacific coast or making a roundtrip of the country should use the San Jose Airport. Programs taking place on the north Pacific coast should use the Liberia Airport. This airport has been recently upgraded and is served by Delta, Continental and American Airlines, charter and private flights.
  • What should participants be advised to pack to Costa Rica?
The dress code in Costa Rica is very casual. Formal attire is only used on special occasions, like receptions, dine-outs or cultural activities. The highland areas can be chilly, and a sweater is recommended. For the lowland areas light, loose-fitting shirts and trousers or shorts are essential. If going into the rain forest, insect repellent, a raincoat with a hood and hiking boots are a most.
  • What would you recommend for a 4-night program?
For a 4-night stay we recommend selecting only one destination, which could be either San Jose or the mid Pacific coast (through the San Jose Airport) or the north Pacific coast (through the Liberia Airport).
  • What are the options for groups staying in Costa Rica for 5 to 7 nights?
Groups with longer stays can have a split program combining San Jose and either the mid Pacific or the north Pacific coast. This provides participants with a great opportunity to observe different landscapes and enjoy more diverse attractions and activities in the selected areas.
  • Is Costa Rica a safe destination?
Like any other country, Costa Rica faces the challenge of keeping citizens and visitors safe. These are valuable recommendations for participants: always carry a photocopy of your passport and leave the original in the safe at the hotel; keep your airline ticket, important documents, cash and traveler cheques in the hotel safe; always change your money at the bank or at the hotel, never on the street; do not wear valuable jewelry on the street and carry only the amount of money you will need for the day; guard valuable items you are carrying, such as cameras or video cameras. If you are going out at night, have the hotel bellstaff call you a cab.
  • Is Costa Rica an island?
No, it is not an island. Costa Rica is located in Central America. Its natural boundaries are: North-Nicaragua, South-Panama, East-Caribbean Sea, West-Pacific Ocean
  • Do guests need a passport to go to Costa Rica?
Yes, all visitors to Costa Rica require a passport that is valid for more than six months after arrival in order to enter the country.
  • What is the weather like in Costa Rica?
Conditions are moderate all year round. The average temperature is 70ºF (21ºC) in the highlands and from the high 70´s to the low 90´sºF (21ºC to 32ºC) in the lowlands. In general terms, the green season lasts from May to November, and the dry season lasts from December to April. However, even during the green season, the mornings are likely to be bright and sunny. Temperatures vary little between seasons; the main influence on temperature is altitude.
  • Is it required having a visa to go to Costa Rica?
Citizens from Canada, the United States and Panama as well as most European citizens do not need a visa. Certain nationalities require a visa, so please check ahead before travelling.
  • Can I enter Costa Rica with a one way ticket?
All visitors must have a round trip ticket as an entry requirement.
  • Do I need an international driver’s license to drive in Costa Rica?
You are allowed to drive with your normal driver’s license for three months.
  • Is the water drinkable in Costa Rica?
Tap water is fit for drinking; however, bottled water is available in most areas.
  • What is the currency in Costa Rica?
The Costa Rican currency is called Colon. US dollars and major credit cards are widely accepted.
  • Are credit cards accepted in Costa Rica?
All major credit cards are widely accepted. You will find ATMs distributed throughout the country.
  • What kind of inoculations do I have to take to Costa Rica?
No vaccines are required to enter Costa Rica.
  • Do I need an electric adapter for a hair drier?
Costa Rica’s electricity supply is 110 Volt AC at 60 Hertz, with standard US two prong plugs. A voltage converter is necessary in order to use 240/250-Volt AC-powered items.
  • What is the tax in Costa Rica?
By law, all hotels are required to add 13% sales tax and 3.39% tourism tax to all room charges. In restaurants, a 10% gratuity and a 13% sales tax are added to the check. Airport tax, payable at the airport upon departure, is currently US$26 per person.
  • What number should I dial in case of emergency?
    Dial 911 for immediate assistance.
  • Can I ship materials, equipment, and gifts for our program in Costa Rica?
In Costa Rica the merchandise arrives to Customs Clearance, and it is subject to high taxes. If you are shipping items we suggest doing it at least 3 or 4 weeks prior to the program; also check with your shipping company about all possible taxes that would apply. We suggest avoiding perishables or high value items, and specifically chocolates, beverages, food, chemical products, jewelry, or cosmetics. It is also advisable to hire Door-to-Door or DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) service, known in the US as Free Domicile, where the sender assumes full payment of freight, taxes and custom clearance. If you have the choice, we would suggest avoiding shipments. In this way you won't have to worry about not getting your items on time or going through the hassle of customs clearance. We offer you a selection of specialized stores including a variety of products, from office supplies to promotional items, graphic material, and all kinds of gifts, among others.
  • Are meetings held in Costa Rica tax deductible?
Yes, Costa Rica has been designated by the US government as a beneficiary country to allow business expense deductions for meetings. Several business-related travel expenses can be deducted. If your program includes meetings, we suggest checking the IRS regulations on this topic to maximize the tax deductibility of the trip.
