The Mid Pacific
region of Costa Rica, where you will find both
the famous Herradura and Jacó beaches,
offers something for everyone along the coastal
line. You can enjoy many motivational activities
such as swimming, surfing the wild waves, sports
fishing, wildlife tours, nature walks, visits
to national parks and many, many more. This area
of the country offers attraction for all kinds
of incentive travel groups, regardless if they
are looking for thrilling experiences or relaxation
time.
In regards
to the weather, this region marks the boundary
between the tropical dry forest farther North
and the tropical forest to the South. It has distinct
wet and dry seasons: May to November and December
to April, respectively. Temperatures average around
30ºC (86ºF) in the dry season, and are
a little lower in the wet season.

CANOPY
TOUR
This exciting tour allows visitors to roam
around the treetops, giving them a “birds-eye
view” of the tropical rainforest and
if perfect for employee motivation. It consists
in gliding from platform to platform through
the forest trees on a special system of
steel cables with the use of professional
climbing gear. Specialized guides will accompany
you through every step of the way and will
introduce the various elements of the tour
to make it a truly memorable experience,
making your motivation strategy a complete
success. This excursion is recommended for
travellers in relatively good physical condition.

CARARA
NATIONAL PARK
The Carara National Park is a low mountainous
region spread over 4700ha of exceptionally
beautiful rainforest. The park forms a transition
between the dry northern zone and the lush
rainforests to the south and you will find
wildlife common to both regions within its
boundaries. The objective of this reserve
is to protect the evergreen forest of great
complexity and density since it holds one
of the widest range of trees in the world.
If your incentive travel group would like
to take glimpse of the extensive wildlife
of Costa Rica, inside this park animals
are often spotted including crocodiles,
iguanas, sloths, scarlet macaws, white-faced
monkeys and a great variety of river birds.

OCEAN
PADDLING & SNORKELING
The Hawaiian-style ocean-going canoes provided
on this tour comfortably hold 8 paddlers
plus the specialized guide who will be accompanying
you. Participants glide easily past cliffs
filled with frigate birds and pelicans,
landing on a secluded beach there is time
for relaxation, tidal pool exploration,
hermit crab races, etc, before paddling
back to the put-in location. Fresh fruits
and water are offered during the trip. Refreshments
will be offered to participants upon return
to the departing point. |

TROPICAL
MANGROVE & CROCODILE ADVENTURE
This picturesque boat adventure takes you
along the Guacalillo Estuary and the Tarcoles
River near Carara National Park and is an
essential part of your travel employee program.
The estuary is renowned for its mangrove
forests, some of the most notable on the
mid Pacific coast for the conservation of
the Scarlet Macaw. The mouth of the Tarcoles
River is considered by birdwatchers to be
one of the chief sites for both sea and
shore birds, while the upper part is home
to the largest crocodile colony in the country,
with some crocodiles measuring up to 20
feet in length. |

RAIN
FOREST AERIAL TRAM – PACIFIC COAST
A unique ecotourism facility, the Aerial
Tram is located in the middle of a private
reserve 3km/2miles away from the town of
Jaco on the mid Pacific coast. It takes
visitors on a relaxing tram excursion through
the rainforest canopy. This is a perfectly
laid back and restful motivational activity
which allows the opportunity to observe
plants and trees from the ground level to
the treetops. The visit also includes a
guided walk along forest trails with a naturalist
guide. |

MANUEL
ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK
Within the boundaries of Manuel Antonio
National Park you will find the active preservation
of beautiful beaches, mangroves, a group
of offshore islands, humid tropical forest
and treasured wildlife. This park boasts
some of the most breathtaking beaches in
the country, for which it is famous worldwide
and you will find that motivational relaxation
is easily achieved herein. Visitors to the
park will have the chance to enjoy white
sandy shorelines, walk along forest trails,
and observe a variety of animals such as
monkeys, raccoons, coatis, iguanas, sloths,
among others. Birdlife is also abundant.
A trail approximately 600 m/0.4 miles long
will take you from the park’s entrance
to the beach where you will spend the day;
alternatively, you may walk along the beach
at your leisure, relaxing in the calm atmosphere
of the surrounding nature. Toilets and showers
are available in the park. The park is closed
Mondays.

SKY
WAYS
Located in a private reserve very close
to Carara National Park, this attraction
is a combination of natural trails and 5
hanging bridges through a fantastic rain
forest of centennial trees. The 5 bridges
are totally made of metal and held by metallic
towers.

GOLF
AT LOS SUEÑOS (half-day or full day)
For golf enthusiasts who are motivated by
a relaxing and friendly game, Los Sueños
Golf Club is the perfect option, located
at the Los Sueños Marriott Hotel
on Herradura Beach. Ted Robinson designed
this 6,707-yard 18-hole Championship golf
course, which opened in 1999. It is situated
over a secluded Pacific Ocean cove; a variety
of wildlife and nature surround the area.

SPORT
FISHING (half-day or full day)
The mid Pacific coast is renowned worldwide
as one of the best “catch and release”
fishing spots ever, so if you are looking
to be motivated by an exciting and electrifying
challenge, this is the place to visit. There
are several fishing locations in the area
with abundant sailfish, grouper, dorado
(mahi-mahi), marlin and yellow fin tuna,
among others. Half-day or full-day fishing
trips can be organized departing from the
Los Sueños Marina. |
